We very much hope you are all keeping well during these very difficult times. Although the business world has drastically changed over the last few months, Makkipak continues to be open for business. We are manufacturing corrugated packaging and bubble bags for the medical and food industry. Some of our bespoke packaging is to protect critical products for the Northampton General Hospital. As packaging manufacturers we discover some of our products are being used in areas of the NHS frontline that are distressing and makes us fully aware of the magnitude of the current situation. We continue to be open until we are told not to or it becomes too unsafe to do so. The courier system remains turbulent and we are now finding parcels are being returned as some businesses close or are only open on certain days. Our courier company no longer offers AM deliveries or insurance cover. This makes it very difficult to decide whether to resend parcels or hold them until required. Should your business close or remain partially open please inform all suppliers.
Our pet/poultry carrier boxes have never been so popular due to the sudden demand for chickens. Poultry farms are quickly running out of chickens, the shortage of eggs in supermarkets seems to have triggered this trend as many people try to become self sufficient . Im not quite sure what will happen to all those chickens when eggs return to the supermarkets. These certainly are strange times !
We are still allowing customers to collect goods but they will always be left outside with the paperwork attached. Think of it as a packaging drive through !
Our staff remain in good health with the exception of one worker who was sent home over 2 weeks ago with mild symptoms. He hasn’t returned to work as the symptoms remain but thankfully so far they do not appear to be worsening. We wish him a very speedy recovery.
Myself and my staff continue our strict hygiene rules, washing hands every hour and keeping 2 metres from each other where possible. We are all certainly looking forward to giving our hands a break from all the anti bacterial washing, our hands now look very worn and quite honestly not sure how much skin is left on them !
We wish everybody the very best during this very tricky period and hope you all manage to get through as best as you can. Should you need any advice please do not hesitate to contact us.
Don’t forget we still have 10% off all online orders,
Looking forward to better days,
Alex Rands-Allen
